Screening of the movie “Digging Woman” / Lecture commemorating the 50th anniversary of the full-scale survey of the Otsuka Ruins ……………………………………………………………………………………………
We will deliver information on events related to the current exhibition “You are an archaeologist from today! -Yokohama Excavation Story 2023-“.
Screening of the movie “Digging Woman: Jomon People’s Lost Items” A screening will be held at the Yokohama City Museum of History Auditorium. A documentary documenting the women involved in the excavation of Jomon archaeological sites over a period of three years.
After the final screening, a talk show will be held with Takako Matsumoto, the director of “Digging Woman”. Enjoy the talk about filming along with the movie!

The Otsuka Ruins, which is located next to the museum, has reached a milestone of 50 years since the full-scale survey. Mr. Tsuneo Komiya, who participated in the excavation survey of the Otsuka Ruins at the time, will give a lecture on the excavation and the progress of research on the ruins since then.

This exhibition is an exhibition where you can enjoy learning about archeology through the experience of observing fragments of earthenware found in Yokohama and solving problems scattered throughout the city. At the same time, you can also visit the 50th anniversary corner of the full-scale survey of the Otsuka Ruins, which is located next to the museum.

Yokohama Ruins Exhibition “All about the Kumanodo Maioka Ruins in Totsuka Ward” The Maioka Kumanodo ruins are rich in history, exhibiting various relics unearthed from the Maioka Kumanodo ruins dating from the mid-Jomon period to the Pacific War era, and explaining the ruins with explanations using panels and diagrams. We approach the whole picture. *The event will be held at the Yokohama City Museum of History Special Exhibition Room.
