KOKUYO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City / President: Hidekuni Kuroda) will hold the “Campus Art Award 2023” painting competition for junior high and high school students jointly with the Yomiuri Chukosei Shimbun (published by the Yomiuri Shimbun Tokyo Headquarters) on June 1st. It will be held from (Thursday) to September 13 (Wednesday). The work selected for the Grand Prix will decorate the cover of the campus notebook.

The Campus Art Award is a painting competition for junior and senior high school students nationwide, co-sponsored by KOKUYO and the Yomiuri Chukosei Shimbun, and supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Japan Tourism Agency. The aim is to nurture children’s intelligence and convey the goodness of handwriting, and this year will be the 9th time. The theme for the contest is “My Sweet Home Town ~Local Recommendation~”. By soliciting paintings on themes such as local landscapes, customs, customs, events, cuisine, and sweets, young people who will lead the future of Japan will turn their attention to their hometowns, become aware of their charms, and create opportunities to share their stories. To do. Entries will be made through the official website, and the screening results will be announced on the official website, as well as in the Yomiuri Junior and Senior High School Newspaper. The Grand Prix work will be the cover of the campus notebook, and 50 original campus notebooks will be presented to the winner. In addition, 1,000 books will be presented to the school that won the Grand Prix. In addition to the Grand Prix, the Yomiuri Junior and Senior High School Newspaper Award, the Kokuyo Award, the District Excellence Award, the Judges’ Special Award, and the Winners will be selected based on expert reviews from among the works that have passed the regional screening. In the final judging, following last year, illustrator Yusuke Nakamura, colored pencil artist Ryota Hayashi, and another judge will select the award-winning works.
