[NHK Culture] “Alphonse Mucha’s secret that makes you want to talk to someone” will be distributed from 16:00 on Saturday, February 18 Not just posters! This is a 90-minute online course that introduces Mucha’s various works and talks about the unknown charm!
Distribution will start from 16:00 on Saturday, February 18, 2023. In addition to introducing a variety of works from the Alphonse Mucha Museum in Sakai, which has over 500 Mucha works, curator Marina Takahara will talk about Mucha’s unknown secrets (personality, etc.). This is an online course that you can take from home, but you can also take it in a theater format at the Hamamatsu classroom. Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939, born in the Czech Republic) is a leading Art Nouveau painter who was active in France and elsewhere.
Mucha’s image is strong in posters, but he left many works such as oil paintings, bronze statues, and jewelry. In this course, we will introduce some representative works from the Alphonse Mucha Museum in Sakai, which has about 500 works by Mucha, as we approach the image of Mucha’s little-known personality.
