The 29th Chikoraku Seminar “Museum with a Story – Until the Birth of the Ohara Museum of Art” will be held at the library attached to the National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City; President: Hiroshi Makino).
This time, we will talk to Ayumi Yoshikawa of the Ohara Museum of Art.  In addition, simultaneous online distribution will be performed using Zoom. “We look forward to your participation.”

In 1930, Japan’s first museum to introduce Western art was born in Kurashiki, a small city in the Seto Inland Sea. Why was such an art museum born there at that time? We will talk about the thoughts of the people who led to the birth of the Ohara Museum of Art and how they struggled, while introducing historical materials.
