It has been 50 years since we launched “Chinese-style home cooking”. Fumin-san returned to the kitchen from the kitchen.
In 1971, he opened a small shop in Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. In 1986, he moved to Minami Aoyama and created a series of creative menus. At the age of 70, he retired from “Aoyama Fumin” and started a small shop called “Hai” in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture in 2021. The restaurant has gained a reputation for its healthy, seasonal dishes, and it has become difficult to get a reservation.
The equipment of “Qi” is not a “kitchen” with high thermal power for commercial use, but a “kitchen” that is a general household. All the recipes in this new book are prepared in Sai’s kitchen, so you should be able to easily recreate them at home!

Her nickname is Fumin, Fumin Mama. A chef born and raised in Tokyo with Taiwanese parents. In 1971, at the age of 25, he opened Fumin, a Chinese-style home cooking restaurant in Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. In 1986, it moved to its current location in Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku. Standing in the kitchen as an owner chef for about 45 years. At the age of 70, he retired from “Fumin”, held food workshops and worked as an on-site chef. Based on the principle of incorporating seasonal ingredients and cooking deliciously to maintain health through food, we provide dishes that delight our customers. He is the author of “Aoyama ‘Fumin”s Exquisite Taiwanese Cuisine Made with Japanese Ingredients” (Shogakukan).
