KLab announces entry into content business for Metaverse such as Fortnite / Roblox
~The first step is to provide content for Fortnite using UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite)~
KLab Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Hidekatsu Morita, hereinafter referred to as “KLab”) will utilize the game development knowledge it has cultivated to date to enter the content business for the Metaverse, starting with Fortnite. We would like to inform you.
Background of entry
Fortnite is a globally popular TPS game provided by Epic Games, Inc. It is said to have 70 million monthly active users, and is rapidly growing as one of the world’s largest Metaverse platforms, boasting a total of over 500 million users worldwide.
Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), whose beta version was released in March 2023, has made it possible to develop content that can be played within Fortnite more quickly.
Roblox is an online gaming platform and game creation system provided by Roblox Corporation. Recently, the introduction of the
conversational generation AI “Roblox Assistant” to Roblox Studio, and the announcement of support for PlayStation and Meta Quest have become a hot topic.
Officially, as of the end of the quarter ending June 2023, 65.5 million users were spending an average of 2 hours and 30 minutes each day on Roblox.

In Fortnite, which is scheduled to be launched in the first round, it will be possible to earn revenue based on the number of people and time spent playing the created map. Officially, top creators have already earned the equivalent of more than $10 million annually. Roblox similarly distributes revenue based on the use of content created by creators.
